Open Enrollment
If you live outside of the West Allis-West Milwaukee School District, you should consider applying for open enrollment through the WI DPI. Open enrollment is for families who are interested in having their students attend school in a district that they currently do not live in.
When to apply?
The open enrollment regular application period for the 2026-27 school year runs from midnight on February 2, 2026 and ends at 4:00pm on April 30, 2026.

Open Enrollment and Attendance Policy
Wisconsin statute 118.51 states that if a non-resident school board determines that a pupil attending the non-resident school district under this section is habitually truant during either semester in the current year, the non-resident school board may prohibit the pupil from attending the nonresident school district the succeeding semester or school year.
