Community Resources
Cultural, recreational, and educational opportunities are plentiful in and around our District. Located in the center of the Metropolitan Milwaukee area, our District is home to Wisconsin State Fair Grounds, the second largest library in the county, the Petit Olympic Ice Skating Rink, championship auto racing, many fine shopping centers and restaurants, a water park, and more.
Neighboring Milwaukee is the state's cultural and entertainment center. Only minutes outside of the district is Milwaukee County Stadium, home to Milwaukee Brewers baseball, and the Bradley Center, host to national and international performing artists and the site of Milwaukee Bucks basketball. Close by is the new Midwest Express Convention Center, the nationally recognized Milwaukee County Zoo, the Milwaukee County Museum, Library, and Art Museum.
Easy freeway access means that camping, fishing, hiking, hunting, swimming and other outdoor activities are less than an hour's drive away. One of Wisconsin's most beautiful areas, Kettle Moraine State Forest, is site of many of these activities. Formed during the Ice Age, Kettle Moraine is notable for its thick woods, placid lakes, winding, rustic roads and plentiful wildlife.
The transition from urban to country is a short one. From commerce to camping and shopping to skating, our District residents live within easy reach of city culture and rural relaxation.
